What is a Save the Date?

A term that comes straight from the United States and means "Save the date" , "Block the date" . Save the date lets you notify your guests so that they can reserve their day, evening or weekend to be with you.

A Save the Date is simply a preamble to the invitation that announces the date of your wedding more or less a year in advance (whereas a traditional invitation is sent 3 to 6 months before the day of the ceremony).
