Description
Wassily Kandinsky was born in Moscow in 1866 and died in Neuilly-sur-Seine in France in 1944.
Considered one of the most important painters of the 20th century , he is often considered the author of the first work of abstract art. Kandinsky's fame is linked to his progressive rejection of any figurative element in his painting .
Abstract art is a movement that dominates the entire 20th century: it breaks with a traditional conception of art as an imitation of nature. Thus he does not attempt to represent subjects or objects of the natural world, the appearances visible to the eye of the world around us but he represents shapes and colors for their own sake.
Abstract art is art that does not contain no evocation of the observed reality. It leaves room for everyone's imagination: everyone can see what they feel.
